The World needs your hope, generous spirit, and love.
/I don’t often let my woo-woo side out, but today I just can’t keep it inside any longer…
The time for deliberate and positive action is now.
I believe that right now, something powerful is emerging in the space of allowing each person to feel and react to current world experiences as they wish.
I think in general we need to be more inclusive and accepting of how people act in order to feel safe. This, I think, is part of a larger conversation about allowing people to set their own boundaries without having to conform to a particular social norm. The largest issue (within our control) about a pandemic is our reaction.
The feeling of hopelessness, powerlessness, and doom feels so pervasive. And then to combine that with disapproval from your peers and others for whatever choice you make is just toxic.

People should feel safe and included.
We want people to feel safe and included and so many of us are making proactive choices to be able to continue to provide services to our clients in the least disruptive manner possible.
AND maybe there is some conversation and creative thinking which can be done around this, for example in our firm, giving people a way to create a space for themselves before they begin a session that gives them the privacy and connection that they expect from an in-office appointment, even if they aren’t physically present.
Because I choose long-term travel, I’ve already begun to build a practice that can work as long as I have a reliable internet connection, headphones, and my laptop. And, other people may be moved into this way of working, whether they want it or not.
What’s next?
I am dreaming of ways to create community, to continue my work, and to stay positive, healthy, and sane. I am taking news fasts so that my mind is not unbalanced by constant 24-hour cycle. I am eating nutritious food, getting enough sleep, meditating, and walking outside when I can to support both my mental and physical health. I am doing all I can to remain equanimous - finding the balance between being careful and being fearful. My choices are maybe not your, but isn’t there is enough space for us all? For each of us to choose what makes us feel safe, and prepared, and connected?
What are you doing to help yourself, your family and loved ones, your community, and your world today?
Sending my love to all of you. Wherever you are in the world. Image by: michael schaffler @schaffler
